At the helm of LUMIN8 Productions is Joseph Davis Castleberry. With over 26 years experience in the field on commercial and narrative film projects, he has acquired the skills needed for any type of work. He is an award winning Photographer, Musician and Artist. Joseph’s core skill were developed through experiences from several trades (Carpenter, Auto Mechanic, Electrician, Engineer etc.), and the critical thinking required to stay safe, and move fast in demanding situations, he weaponized critical thinking, and makes even the worst of situations end in success. He’s produced large scale fashion shoots, music videos, documentaries, short films, live music and commercial narratives, which cemented his filmmaking foundation moving into feature film. Joseph has a high focus on lighting, composition, psychology, and emotional development, tools he uses to support his stories and talent on set. Starting in 2005 Shooting on dv film and moving into digital in 2008, he now has a world of experience with many different mediums, understanding the advantages and disadvantages of each of these tools. His extensive knowledge of the science and technology behind digital sensors, lenses and digital lighting have open many creative doors, which resulted in his consultation for many productions. Now his focus is on Writing, Directing, and DP’ing feature films, but also loves helping others tell their stories, reach out to see how he can help bring your idea to life, and possibly even take it to another level.
